alive, and I remained the same after our President had died.

Now Comrade Wong is in Wuhan, and has in his

attitude and speeches entirely denied what he had said to

the Committees in Shanghai, and has even openly libelled

as reactionaries Ng Tsz Fai and Li Shek Tsung and other old

Kuomintang members whom he formerly held in high esteem.

But we still hope earnestly that he will return to Nanking

quickly to get the Nationalist Revolution accomplished in

conjunction with the true members of our Kuomintang. We cannot tolerate his becoming a tool of the Communists in

Muhan. All of you must understand that we are at present

confronted with a question concerning the existence or

destruction of our Kuomintang, and not with one concerning

myself alone. Again it is not a question of the prestige

of the Generalissimo himself, when his orders are neglected,

but is also one of the existence or destruction of the

Kuomintang and of all its troops. Further all of you must understand that we must eliminate the Communists whether

they have provided us with a good cause or not. In so doing we only have to ask ourselves if we can carry out the policies of our late President, if we can improve our troos,

and if we can do everything systematically and in time. One more word of importance to you; it is that we should do our utmost in preaching the principles and spirit of our Kuomintang. This is the most important work in the course of our National Revolution, and our existence or destruct-

ion entirely depends on the present time.
